6 Greater Allegheny Basketball Players Honored by PSUAC
PSUAC Releases 2024-25 Basketball All-Conference Awards
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference released its 2024-2025 Men's and Women's Basketball All-Conference teams on Thursday. Nearly 100 awards were recognized, with more than 90 student-athletes garnering the postseason accolades.
Five players grabbed Divisional Player of the Year honors, with co-Players of the Year in the men's basketball East Division. Jedidiah Ashton of Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Issac Lane of Penn State Schuylkill earned those honors. Their counterpart in the West Division is Penn State Fayette's Dasilas Jones, who led the PSUAC in scoring at 24.5 points per game. Ashton averaged 18.7 points and nearly nine rebounds per game, both top five in the PSUAC, while Lane was third in scoring at over 20 points and fifth in rebounds at 8.1 per game.
If the PSUAC had a Comeback Player of the Year, the women's basketball East Division Player of the Year would have likely claimed it as well. Schuylkill's Tajae Stevenson collected her second PSUAC Player of the Year award in the last three seasons and her third First Team All-Conference selection in 2025, just a year after injury derailed her 2023-2024 campaign. Out West, Penn State DuBois' Natalie Bowser was named the Player of the Year after averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 11.3 rebounds a game. Stevenson just missed that mark, but was equally impressive at 18.8 points and nine rebounds per game.
Elizabeth Hungiville joined Bowswer as specialty award winners from DuBois, earning the West Division Rookie of the Year after finishing third in the PSUAC in rebounding at 11.5 per game and adding nearly 12 points per contest. Delaney Burroughs of Penn State York stood out in her first collegiate campaign, grabbing East Division Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 20.5 points per game, second in the PSUAC.
On the men's side, Kyle John of Penn State Lehigh Valley (East) and Ronyell Coston of Penn State Beaver (West) were named Rookies of the Year. Coston averaged 8.5 points and helped lead his team back into the postseason after a two-year hiatus. John was Lehigh Valley's leading scorer at more than 12 points per game.
Defensively, Stevenson earned East Division Defensive Player of the Year accolades while Beaver's Katie Enderle was the West's best on defense. Bryson Fleming of Penn State Mont Alto and Beau Verdill won the East and West Defensive Player of the Year awards, respectively, in men's basketball.
Penn State York head coach Tory Harvey was selected by his peers as the Women's Basketball Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 16-2 mark in the PSUAC and the no. 2 seed in the East. Penn State Mont Alto's Jack Schenzel garnered the same admiration of his peers in men's basketball, being named Coach of the year after a 17-1 season in the PSUAC that earned the top playoff seed in the East Division.
