Newport News, Va. - As the spring seasons come to a close, members of the Penn State Greater Allegheny baseball and softball team are recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association as members of not only the All-Academic teams, but also the All-American teams.
To be eligible for the 2015 United States Collegiate Athletic Association National All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain atleast an overall grade point average of 3.5 alongside completing 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts.
Sophomore first baseman Joshua Arroyo (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Levittown Baptist Academy) has been named to the 2015 USCAA Baseball All-Academic Team for his outstanding efforts in the classroom beside his presence on the baseball team.

Both sophomore shortstop Jen Keefer (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) and sophomore outfielder Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) were recognized by the USCAA for their academics as they found themselves on the 2015 USCAA Softball All-Academic Team.

Senior catcher Troy Ambros (Pembroke Pines, Fla./West Broward), senior shortstop Aaron McGee (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and Arroyo were named 2015 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball First-Team All-Americans for their effort thus far this season.
Ambros is sitting 5th in the USCAA for his overall batting average of .457 as he makes the PSUAC standings board sitting in 3rd overall for batting average (.457) and third in runs batted in (36). He is heading into the World Series with 36 games played this season for the blue-and-white, scoring 46 runs off of 53 hits and batting home 36 runs. The senior has slugged 17 doubled and six triples as he stole seven total bases with an on-base percentage .540.
McGee assisted his team through the senior season not only at the shortstop position, but also on the mound for GA. The right-hander sits in fourth place in the USCAA for wins on the mound with seven as he occupies a few other categories in the PSUAC. McGee sits fourth with a 2.98 earned run average, third with 59 strikeouts, alongside first in both wins with seven and saves with three. He heads into the World Series with 49 runs on 39 hits racking up an overall batting average of .402. With an on-base percentage of .550, McGee hit nine doubles, one homerun and 31 runs batted in. On the mound, McGee has pitched over 45 innings for GA allowing just 33 hits with 59 total strikeouts.
Arroyo sits first in the USCAA and the PSUAC for runs batted in with 61. He occupies fifth place in the PSUAC with a .448 batting average and fourth place with four homeruns. The first baseman heads into the National Championships with 30 runs scored on 47 hits with nine doubles and four homeruns. He has batted in 61 runs with six stolen bases for an overall on-base percentage of .522.
Senior right-handed pitcher Eddie Emes (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) earned himself a spot on the USCAA Baseball Second-Team All-American team for his efforts on the pitcher's mound. He sits in fourth place in the PSUAC with five wins and fourth place in the PSUAC with 58 strikeouts. Emes has an overall standing of 5-3 with over 62 innings pitched with an overall ERA of 3.65.

The baseball season is not over at Greater Allegheny, as the men gear up for the USCAA Baseball Small College World Series National Championships in Newport News, Va., where the men sit in the #2 seed position. Their first game is set for Wednesday at 9 p.m. against either Penn State Schyulkill or Cincinnat-Clermont.
