Baseball Knocks Off Defending USCAA National Champion Briarcliffe (NY) 2-1

Penn State Greater Allegheny, led by a late-inning rally, earned a thrilling 2-1 victory over defending National Champion Briarcliffe (NY).

Freshman starting pitcher Tim Connelly (Woodland Hills) went the distance for Greater Allegheny, giving up 1 run on just 3 hits, while fanning 7. Sophomore First Baseman Robbie Shartle (Meadville) led the way on offense for the Lions, going 2-3 and knocking in the game winning run in the bottom of 6th. Sophomore right Fielder Mike Visloski (McDonald, West Allegheny) added the other RBI, and also scored the winning run after earning a lead-off walk to start the 6th.

Penn State Greater Allegheny ups their record to 3-1 on the season, and will finish up today's action with a night cap against Vermillion CC at 7:00 pm.
