Baseball Suffers 7-6 Setback  to LaRoche

THe Penn State Greater Alleghney baseball program traveled to Pittsburgh, PA to take on coss-town rival LaRoche College on Tuesday afternoon. After falling behing 6-2, the lions scored fours runs in the eigth inning to know the score at 6. Laroche scored with one out in the bottom of the ninth to secure the 7-6 victory.

Junior Ted Fricke (Carrick) picked up the hard luck loss for Greater Allegheny. Offensively Freshman Scott Dierdorf (Hopewell) picked up three hits, while blasting two doubles. Fricke, Senior Nate Raffle (GCC), and Sophomore Matt Bradburn (Baldwin) picked up two hits. Sophomore Rob Shartle (Meadville) also knocked in two runs.

The loss drops Greater Allegheny to 9-8 overall. Greater Alleghney will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to York, PA to take on PSU-York in PSUAC play, first pitch is 2:00 p.m.
