Baseball Advances in PSUAC Tournament with 2-1 Victory

The Penn State Greater Allegheny baseball program advanced in the PSUAC Tournament with a comeback 2-1 victory over Penn College on Friday night at Penn State's Medlar Field.

Freshman Sam Weightman (Penn Trafford) doubled in Freshamn Dan Laird (Steel Valley) with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the victory.

Junior Ted Fricke (Carrick) picked up the victory in relief going to innings while fanning two. Junior Jon Lutz (West Mifflin) went five strong innings while striking out seven. Sophomore Mike Visloski (West Allegheny) smacked a triple and scored a run. Fricke also picked up two hits and knocke din one run.

Greater Allegheny improves to 26-10-1 overall and 16-1 in the PSUAC. The Lions will face PSU-Brandywine tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. with the right to go the PSUAC Championship.
