Baseball Completes Perfect Weekend, Improves to 10-2 in the PSUAC

Hazleton, Pa- Senior outfielder Mike Visloski (McDonald, PA/West Allegheny) went 4-4 and had five RBI's in game one, propelling the Greater Allegheny (19-14, 10-2 PSUAC) baseball team to 11-0 and 2-0 wins over conference foe, Penn State Hazleton.

Freshman outfielder Alente Johnson (Rochester, PA/Rochester) added three hits of his own to the game one effort, as junior first baseman Sam Weightman (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) crushed his second home run in as many days.  Weightman totaled four RBI's in the contest, with three coming via the long ball.  Junior right-hander Evan James (Harrison City, PA/Western Oklahoma State) was dominant in his five innings on the mound for GA, allowing just two hits and striking out 11.

In a much quiter game offensively in the second battle, Johnson totaled two more hits- one being a double- along with an RBI.  Senior second baseman Jason Paris (Houston, PA/Chartiers Houston) belted two doubles, while sophomore catcher Clay Groff's (Pittsburgh, PA/Allderdice) RBI double in the top of the seventh gave GA a key, 2-0 safety net. Sophomore shortstop Aaron McGee (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) went 2-3 at the plate, with a double to his credit.  Freshman left-hander Zach Krivda (McKeesport, PA/McKeesport) pitched six strong innings, striking out five and allowing just two hits.  Sophomore Dan Laird (Munhall, PA/Steel Valley) came on in the seventh and sealed the deal, with a one inning save.

Greater Allegheny will look to inflate their PSUAC record further, as they host Penn State Beaver this Thursday, April 18.  First pitch of the double-header is set for 12 PM.
