Vero Beach, Fla. - Playing in their first regular season contest of the 2013-14 season, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's baseball team took a huge 5-1 victory over Norwich University, Saturday night.

Sophomore pitcher Zach Krivda (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) took the mound for GA, as the lefty took two strike-out's off three batters in the first few plays. A scoreless first inning paved the way to a huge second, as sophomore outfielder Jose Pablo Bonilla (Coto Laurel, Puerto Rico/Academia Santa Maria) and sophomore infielder Victor Monroig (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Juan Quirindongo) advanced to take the first tallies of the new season. Krivda threw four strike-out's through four innings before Norwich got on the board with their first hit of the game in the bottom of the 5th inning.

With the score now 2-1, Penn State Greater Allegheny lifted the momentum to head into the 6th. Junior infielder Aaron McGee (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) lit up a single to center field before sophomore infielder Tommy Williams (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) obtained a single on a bunt. Junior catcher Troy Ambros (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./West Browar) took the first out of the inning as both McGee and Williams advance. Junior right fielder Clay Groff (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) blasted a two-RBI triple into the backfield, as GA pushes their score up to 4-1. Senior outfielder Braedon Pennington (Punxsutawney, Pa./Mercyhurst) flied out to center field as he grabbed a RBI for Groff's run, Greater Allegheny ahead 5-1. Senior infielder Adam Wehr (Onefield, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) managed a double down the left field line as the last out was taken to head to the bottom of the 6th.

Schell grabbed two strike-outs and allowed two hits through eight batters with no runs added.
