Wehr Recognized by PSUAC as Hitter of the Week

University Park, Pa. - While assisting his team through a 4-1, 4-0 week, senior first baseman Adam Wehr (Orefield, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) was recognized as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Student Athlete of the Week for baseball as a hitter for the week of April 7-13.

In the first game on the week, Penn State Greater Allegheny went up against California (Pa.). Wehr went 3-for-5 at the plate, scoring three runs and batting in four. The senior hit two home runs through the course of nine innings, both being hammered to left field.

In Saturday's double-header over Penn State Brandywine, Wehr went 3-for-8 through two games as he notched one tally himself while batting another runner in.

The next day, Penn State Schyulkill came to town for another set of Penn State University Athletic Conference match-ups. In game one, Wehr hit a double as he sent a runner across the plate and eventually scoring himself. Through the second game, Wehr went 3-for-4 at the plate, two of them being doubles and the other a homer to center field. He contributed one run and three RBI's in the 13-3 show out.

He averaged .500 (10-20) at the plate through five games with three doubles and nine RBI's. Wehr boosted his teams efforts on the week with three home runs and six scored runs.
