Vero Beach, Fla. - With major contribution from senior right-handed pitcher Aaron McGee (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and senior center fielder Gianmarco Concepcion (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Mercyhurst North East), the Penn State Greater Allegheny baseball team swiped a 8-3 triumph over familiar PSUAC foe, Penn State Beaver, on Monday afternoon.

McGee pitched all seven innings, as he allowed just two hits while striking out eight of his 25 batters faced. Beside his efforts on the mound, McGee finished the game with two runs and one RBI as he went 2-for-2 from the plate. Concepcion batted 3-for-3 as he sent four to score with one himself.

Beaver came out hot in the top of the first, as they managed to notch two runs. McGee singled before senior catcher Troy Ambros (Pembroke Pines, Fla./West Broward) tripled to send McGee to score. Concepcion doubled to send Ambros across the plate to even the tally at two.

The bottom of the third saw a pair of walks to put McGee and Ambros on base. Concepcion tripled to send both of them to mark a pair of runs. Though senior outfielder Matt Klena (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) sacrafice flied out to left field, Concepcion went home to put GA ahead 5-2.

GA continued their swell in the bottom of the fourth as junior third baseman Clay Groff (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) doubled to bring home sophomore outfielder Mark Hollis (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills). McGee singled to bring home junior second baseman John Nusser (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brashear). Concepcion grounded out as Groff managed to mark a run, Greater Allegheny now leading Beaver 8-2.

Beaver marked the last score of the game in the top of the seventh to finish the contest at a 8-3 Greater Allegheny advantage to mark their second win of their spring break trip.

The men are set to face Parkland College at 7 p.m. under the lights at Holman Stadium.
