Both the USCAA and the PSUAC Recognize Greater Allegheny Baseball Veterans

McKeesport, Pa. - With stand-out performances on the mound and the in the outfield, both senior right-handed pitcher Eddie Emes (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) and senior center-outfielder Gianmarco Concepcion (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Mercyhurst North East) were recognized for their efforts through the week of March 17th.

Emes pitched two complete games for the blue and white last week to lead the team to a 1-1 record.  Through the duration of 13 innings of pitching, Emes struck out 12 batters while only giving up three earned runs for an ERA of 2.08.  Additionally, Emes recorded a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 2 put outs and 9 assists. 

For his commendable efforts, Eddie earned both the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) alongside United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Pitcher of the Week awards.

Concepcion earned himself the PSUAC Student-Athlete Hitter of the Week through the spring break trip of the 2014-15 season. Through six contests, Gianmarco started his senior season off with a .471 batting average while with-standing a .647 slugging percentage. He tallied eight hits off 17 at bats, seven RBIs, one double and one triple. The righty drew three walks while stealing three bases.
