Emes and Del Rio Honored by PSUAC for Baseball Efforts

University Park, Pa. - Penn State Greater Allegheny baseball stand-outs sophomore designated hitter Francisco Del Rio (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy) and senior right-handed pitcher Eddie Emes (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) earned themselves the Penn State University Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week  for their efforts through March 24, 2015.

Through three contests, Del Rio hit .545 (6-for-11), notching four runs for the Greater Allegheny offense. Francisco drew two walks, and compiled an on-base percentage of .615. The designated hitter batted in four runs to elevate the Greater Allegheny Lions to the 2-1 week.

Emes has earned himself the Pitcher of the Week accolade for the second-straight time this season. While pitching in two games with a overall record of 1-1, Eddie sat down seven batters on strike-out through 11.2 innings pitched. He allowed just four earned runs, while surrendering 13 hits. Emes currently leads the PSUAC in strike-outs with 19.
