Ambros Slugged His Way to PSUAC and USCAA Hitter of the Week

McKeesport, Pa. - With a batting average of .692 (9-13), senior third baseman and catcher Troy Ambros (Pembroke Pines, Fla./West Broward) earned himself not only the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Hitter of the Week, but also the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's (USCAA) Player of the Week accolades for the week of April 7th, 2015.

In four contests through the week for the blue-and-white, Troy connected on an impressive 9-of-13 run in the batter's box as he averaged .692. The left-handed batter drove in five runs to score while clobbering four doubles to offset the Greater Allegheny offense. The senior posted eight runs to contribute to the perfect week, stealing a base and walking once.

In the field, Ambros produced a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 18 putouts, four assists, and zero errors.

Ambros' efforts through the week trailblazed a Lion 4-0 week, including a pair of 13-3 PSUAC triumphs over Penn State Fayette.
