Mont Alto, Pa. - In an extremely close match-up, the Penn State Greater Allegheny Lions escape Penn State Schyulkill with a 4-3 Penn State University Athletic Conference post-season bout, as GA moves on to the PSUAC Semi-Finals.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the fourth, as Schyulkill got on the board first, 1-0. The bottom of the inning brought GA up to bat. Senior right-fielder Gianmarco Concepcion (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Mercyhurst North East) walked before advancing to second on a stolen base. Sophomore first baseman Joshua Arroyo (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Levittown Baptist Academy) singled to bat in Concepcion and to even the score at one apiece.

A two-run homer led to a Penn State Schyulkill 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning.

Sophomore left-fielder Mark Hollis (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) singled before senior designated hitter Matt Klena (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler) walked. Junior third baseman Clay Groff (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) was hit-by-pitch to fill the bases. Senior right-handed pitcher Aaron McGee (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) sacrifice flied out to center-field, batting in Hollis. Senior catcher Troy Ambros (Pembroke Pines, Fla./West Broward) singled before Concepcion singled to score Klena. Arroyo sacrifice flied out to right-field to score Groff and put Greater Allegheny narrowly ahead 4-3.

The game expired after seven innings with Greater Allegheny in the driver's seat, 4-3, advancing to the Semi-Final match against Penn State Beaver. The first pitch is yet to be determined.

Senior right-handed pitcher Eddie Emes (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) pitched four innings as he faced 20 batters, sitting down four on strike-outs. McGee came in to finish the game as he threw over two innings, facing 12 batters, allowing just one hit with three strike-outs. Concepcion went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI contributed. Arroyo hit 1-of-3 with two runs batted in. Hollis went 1-for-2 with one run scored.
