Two PSUAC Losses for Greater Allegheny Men's Baseball at DuBois

DuBois, Pa. - Through a set of Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) matches, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's baseball team dropped the pair by tallies of 3-1 and 4-2.

A run in the bottom of the second and two in the bottom of the fourth of game one resulted in a 3-0 setback before GA got on the board in the fifth.

Freshman right-fielder Pedro Escobar (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico/Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy) batted home junior shortstop Zachary Pollack (Cecil, Pa./Canon-McMillan) to post the lone goal of the game.

Junior right-handed pitcher Luke Padezan (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) faced 29 batters over six innings of action, sitting four down on strike-out.

Sophomore pinch hitter Max Whiteman (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) went 1-for-1 while sophomore center-fielder Dylan Ernst (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) hit 1-for-2. Senior outfielder Mark Hollis (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills), junior first baseman Joshua Arroyo (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Levittown Baptist Academy), Pollack, Ernst, Whiteman, Escobar and sophomore third baseman Dylan Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) all notched hits in game one.

Game two brought a DuBois run in the second and three runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the home team in front, 4-0.

Greater Allegheny earned a run in the sixth and a run in the seventh to cut the deficit in half, 4-2. Both Escobar and freshman designated hitter Brian Koglin (Indiana, Pa./Fox Chapel) crossed home plate for GA but time expired, ending the second game in DuBois' favor.

Junior right-handed pitcher Daniel Daly (Glassport, Pa./South Allegheny) faced 28 batters through six innings, sitting three down on strike-outs.

Both Ernst and junior second baseman Adam Jacko (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) went 2-for-3 while Escobar went 1-for-3 with one run. Finocchi nabbed the lone RBI of game two.

Greater Allegheny (5-10, 3-2 PSUAC) looks to make-up a game against Penn State DuBois, Wednesday afternoon, at Washington Wild Thing Park. The first pitch of the nine-inning contest is set for 5 p.m.
