Lion Baseball Blanked by Bison to Close 2016-17 Season

Bethany, W.Va. - Through a nine-inning non-conference Senior Day in Bethany, West Virginia, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's baseball team fell to the Bethany Bison, Sunday afternoon, by a margin of 10-0.

Runs by Bethany were added in the first, third, fifth, sixth and seventh.

Junior right-handed pitcher Daniel Daly (Glassport, Pa./South Allegheny) threw five innings, pitching 57 strikes on 90 pitches with five strike-outs on 29 batters. Freshman right-handed pitcher Matt Smith (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) threw 21 strikes over two innings while sophomore right-handed pitcher Marcos Lopez (Caglas, Puerto Rico/Ramey) threw eleven strikes over one inning.

Sophomore left-fielder Alex Myers (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) went 3-of-4 at the plate while freshman third baseman Pedro Escobar (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico/Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy) went 2-of-4.

Greater Allegheny (8-15, 6-6 PSUAC) closes the season in fourth place in the West Division of the PSUAC.
