What They Are Saying About Coach Creehan

McKeesport, Pa. - With the Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball season just five short months away, new PSUGA Head Baseball Coach Kenny Creehan and his team are getting more and more excited as the season approaches. Get to know more about PSUGA's new head baseball coach as we take a look at what other coaches from around the country have said about working with coach Creehan.

“Coach Creehan is one of the most energetic coaches I have been around.  I was fortunate to play for him at the Citadel when we made it to the College World Series in 1990 and he was a huge part of our success.  Still to this day it is the only Military School to ever advance to the CWS.  I promise he will get his players to play hard, compete and believe that they can win.”

-Dan McDonnell, Head Baseball Coach University of Louisville.

“I had the opportunity to play for Coach Creehan and he was the reason I became a Division I baseball player. His energy and enthusiasm for the game made me want to be around the game every day. Penn State University-GA is fortunate to have a baseball coach with the passion and knowledge for the game that Coach Creehan brings to his team. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without his support!”

-Chris Lemonis, Head Baseball Coach Mississippi State University

Kenny Creehan has been a tremendous asset to our organization over the best seven years.  His passion for educating young people is second to none and his willingness to mentor all the players in our program both on and off the field has been instrumental in their development.  On the field Kenny is a tireless teacher of the game of baseball and has always found teachable moments in any situation.  It has truly been my honor to work with Kenny, and I wish him and the PSUGA Baseball Program all the best.

-Dan Ninemire, General Manager Team All American

It’s great to hear that Coach Creehan is back in the college game! With his past coaching experience at the very highest collegiate level and ability to be a great communicator, I know that he will pass that experience along to his players.

In the time that I have known Coach Creehan, I have seen his ability to spot talent, develop that talent, and get that talent to the next level. I have seen his teams play, and what comes to my mind to describe his teams are Disciplined, Play Hard, and Have Fun.

I look forward to following Coach Creehan’s teams at PSUGA.

-Mike Hampton Recruiting Coordinator/Hitting Coach St. John’s University

“I played for Coach Creehan at VMI in 1992.  He brings the same energy today as he did in 1992.  His vast knowledge and passion for the game is unprecedent. He brings all the intangibles to the players to help them succeed in baseball and life.”

-Marlin Ikenberry Head Baseball Coach James Madison University

“Kenny Creehan has the baseball knowledge and experience to lead and teach baseball at the very highest level. His commitment, work ethic and passion for the game is second to none”

-Fran Riordan AAA Manager Oakland Athletics

The PSUGA Baseball season kicks off in March when the team takes it's annual trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the Cal Ripken Baseball experience for a week full of baseball. Their Penn State University Athletic Conference Play opens shortly after that on March 22nd at PSU-Fayette.
