Field Conditions Postpones PSUGA Baseball

McKeesport, PA. – Due to bad playing conditions at the CCAC Boyce baseball field, Tuesday’s game between Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball and CCAC Boyce has been postponed. The natural grass playing surface did not have the proper time to set forcing the game to be moved to a later date.

PSUGA now gets some more rest before continuing their non-conference schedule when they take on Grove City on Friday. After coming off of a 3-2 week in Myrtle Beach at the Cal Ripken Experience, PSUGA holds on to that momentum for a little bit longer. The offense has been the driving force for the team this season hitting .314 through the first seven games and the middle of the lineup has helped those numbers greatly.

In Friday’s come from behind win over Nassau Community College, the three through six hitters combined to go 5-14 while driving in six RBI on the day. Senior outfielder Dylan Ernst (McKeesport, PA./McKeesport HS) led the way between those four hitters going 2-4 with two RBI in the win.

CCAC-Boyce has to wait a little while longer to get back going as well after splitting their first doubleheader of the season back on March 9th against Eastern Gateway Community College. After dropping the first game 6-0, the offense came back and put up 12 runs on the board in what was a 12-2 win in the second game of the day.

A makeup date for Tuesday’s contest has not yet been announced and will be announced at a later date. PSUGA Baseball will return to action on Friday against Grove City at Pullman Park with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
