Golf Plays Second Tournament of the Year at Fayette Invitational

McKeesport, PA. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Golf Team is back in action when they travel to Penn State Fayette to take part in the Fayette Invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m. After finishing in 9th place at the White Course Invitational to start the season, head coach Tyler Care and his team are looking to keep improving each time they take the course.

Nickolas Kazousky (Freshman) was the team leader last time out shooting a course score of 83 through the 18-hole course. He was able to pick up seven pars on the day, including three in a row on holes five, six, and seven. His best performance came on the front nine where he shot just four over par setting a good pace for the back nine.

Reigning United States Collegiate Athletic Association Woman’s Golfer of the Week Taylor Coccia (Elizabeth, PA./Elizabeth Forward) is also looking to keep things going scoring a 107 at the White Course Invitational. She finished the course with one par and had a beautiful bogey on the fifth hole when she chipped on in from 40 feet away to get herself back on track. Coccia is the first PSUGA women’s golfer to be recognized by the USCAA in program history.

Saturday’s invitational will be played at Duck Hollow Golf Course located at 374 Duck Hollow Road, Uniontown, PA. 15401. The course is an 18-hole course with a course rating of 71.7 covering 6,500 yards. Tee time for the Fayette Invitational is schedule for 11 a.m.
