Bucsok Breaks All-Time Win Record in 9-0 Victory Over WCCC

Youngwood, PA. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Soccer Team (4-2-1, 2-1-1) scored a big non-conference win on Thursday night defeating Westmoreland County Community College 9-0. The win moved them to 4-2-1 and gave goalkeeper Colin Bucsok (Pittsburgh, PA./Thomas Jefferson HS) the record for the most career wins by a goalkeeper in PSUGA Men’s Soccer History.

The offense was firing on all cylinders right from the get go and never let up. Belmo Nurkic (Pittsburgh, PA./Baldwin HS) got PSUGA on the board just three minutes into the game with his team leading seventh goal of the season to make it a 1-0 game. Nurkic stopped shooting for the net and started passing to his teammates after that picking up a team leading three assists in the win.

Yam Bista (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) and Jagesh Subba (Pittsburgh, PA./Baldwin HS) added two goals a piece while Radha Timsina (Pittsburgh, PA./Baldwin HS), Prajal Sharma (Baldwin, PA./Baldwin HS), Nic Babic (White Hall, PA./Baldwin HS), and Yousef Ibrahim (Abu Dhabi/American Community School of Abu Dhabi) all added goals to round out the nine goal attack.

Bucsok was not tested much in net making two saves on two shots on goal in his 90 minutes in net. He continued to add on to his program record career shutouts posting the sixth of his young career. The win today helped him surpass former PSUGA Lion Alex Wood who had 12 career wins in his time with PSUGA.

The win now gets PSUGA back on track as they get set for Penn State University Athletic Conference play once again on Sunday when they battle PSU-Lehigh Valley. PSUGA currently sits in fourth place in the PSUAC through three conference games played and is aiming for a #1 or #2 seed and a playoff berth for the fifth consecutive season.

Kick-off for Sunday’s game against PSU-Lehigh Valley is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Francis McClure Intermediate School. Come catch all the action as we honor our seniors and 2+2 Players at 1:35 p.m. The address for the game is 500 Longvue Dr. White Oak, PA.
