PSUGA Men’s Soccer Releases 2018 Schedule

McKeesport, PA. – The days are getting hotter and so is the buzz at Penn State Greater Allegheny as we get set for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. The PSUGA Men’s Soccer team is getting ready by releasing their 2018 season schedule on Friday which includes 10 home dates at McClure Intermediate School’s Soccer Field.

Under the new Penn State University Athletic Conference format, PSUGA will compete in the PSUAC West Division where they will face off with PSU-Beaver, PSU-Mont Alto, PSU-New Kensington, and PSU-Lehigh Valley. The top two teams from the West will go on to the playoffs where they will compete with the top two teams from the East for a chance to be crowned the PSUAC Champions.

The 2018 PSUGA Men’s Soccer season will kick off on August 25th when they face The University of Pitt Greensburg in a scrimmage at the McClure Intermediate School at 4 p.m. They will start their regular season two weeks later facing off with Regent University at 4 p.m.

PSUGA will play their first eight games at home taking on top teams such as NCAA Division II Point Park and United States Collegiate Athletic Association Powerhouse Southern State CC. Their PSUAC Conference opener will be on September 19th against PSU-New Kensington as PSUGA Soccer looks to make their fifth consecutive trip to the PSUAC Playoffs.

Second year head coach Dale Odim returns after leading his team to a program best 9-4 overall record a season ago. Odim is excited for the challenges ahead for his team and is determined to put the pieces in place that will help lead his team to yet another playoff run in 2018.

The Soccer team starts regular season play on September 8th kicking off a stretch of eight straight games at home before they go on the road for the first time on September 29th. For a complete look at the 2018 season schedule click here
