Soccer vs. Pitt-Johnstown Cancelled

McKeesport, PA. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Soccer team’s (1-2, 0-0) non-conference match-up with Pitt-Johnstown (1-0, 0-0) on Wednesday has been canceled due to circumstances beyond team control. The PSUGA soccer team was coming off their first win of the 2019-2020 season last time out when they defeated Westmoreland County Community College 3-0.

With the cancellation, PSUGA will now look ahead to their Penn State University Athletic Conference opener on Friday, September 13th, against Penn State Hazleton. Last season, PSUGA finished conference play 4-2-2 and secured the #4 seed in the PSUAC playoffs. They defeated PSU-York in the first round of the PSUAC playoffs marking the team’s first home playoff win in program history.

PSUGA is looking to get back to the PSUAC playoffs for the sixth straight season in 2019 and will try to host in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight season. With conference play beginning around the PSUAC this week, things are heating up as we get set for the playoff race to begin.

The PSUGA Soccer team is back in action on Friday when they take on Penn State Hazleton at 12:45 p.m. The game will be played at Breisinger Field located at 410 East Bruceton Road, Pittsburgh, PA.
