The 2019-2020 school year marks Dale Odim's third season at the helm of the Penn State Greater Allegheny Soccer team. In his first two seasons as head coach, he compiled a record of 16-9-2 and a 10-6-2 record against the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

In 2018, Odim led his team to the PSUAC playoffs for the fourth straight season and the second straight time under his watch with a record of 8-5-2. They picked up their first ever home playoff win against PSU-York in the first round when they won 4-1 at Breisinger Field. They would go on to face the eventual PSUAC and United States Collegiate Athletic Association Champions PSU-Brandywine in the semifinals and hung around before falling 4-0 ending their season.

Odim led his team to a 9-4 overall record and a 7-3 record in conference play which were both new school records in 2017. After a record 5-0 start to conference play, which included the team's first ever win against PSU-Hazleton, Odim and his team would cruise to the Penn State University Athletic Conference Playoffs entering as the #2 seed and gaining a first round bye. They would take on #3 seed PSU-Hazleton and fell just short dropping the contest 4-1.

During his time with PSUGA, Odim has coached eight PSUAC All-Conference players and three USCAA All-Americans. He was instrumental in helping Marin Marina be named both a first-team PSUAC All-Conference and a first-Team USCAA All-American in his senior season before adding him to his coaching staff as an assistant for the 2018 campaign.

Prior to joinin the PSUGA Soccer team Odim coached the Ellis High School Girl’s Varsity Soccer team for 4 seasons. Odim’s passion for soccer was developed while growing up as a child in Nigeria, and his coaching career began as a 19-year old during a 1977 summer internship with IBM.

His soccer carrer began at Pomfret School in Connecticut, where he was a 2-year midfield/defender starter.  As a freshman at Carleton College (1976), he was a mid-field starter. The remainder of his playing career was as an adult amateur for the Rochester Macs Soccer Club, who were Minnesota Soccer Association Division II State Champions in 1985.  He also played with the Rochester AMPS Soccer Club, who were 3-time Southern Minnesota League Champions in 1986, 1989 and 1990. Odim has playing experience in each position on the field, including as goalkeeper for a season with the AMPS.

It is in Rochester that Odim left his mark on the Southern MN soccer community.  He is a past President of the Rochester Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) and was a club head coach.  His Rochester Steamers Boys’ Select Traveling Team won an AAU Junior Olympic Bronze Medal as U-12s and were 3-time State Champions (U-14, U-16, U-17).  In 1995, Odim was the Director of Training for RYSA Traveling Teams and in 1996 he received an RYSA Appreciation Award for, “Untiring dedication to the growth of soccer in Southern Minnesota".

In 1998, Odim took a 13-yr hiatus from soccer to refocus on family and career.  A career change allowed him to return to soccer in 2011 as Assistant Women’s Coach at Bucks County Community College in the Philadelphia area.  That same year, he also coached a U-12 Boys Premier Traveling team in Williamstown, NJ.  He relocated to Pittsburgh in 2012 and was the Head Coach at the Ellis School.

In the Spring of 2017, Odim coached a PA West U15 Boys team from the Pittsburgh area Dynamo Football Club and he currently coaches 2-6 year olds with Soccer Shots and he is also a licensed WPIAL high school referee.
