Softball Senior Day Postponed Due to Weather

McKeesport, PA. - With strong storms set to move through the area on Friday afternoon, the PSUGA Softball team's doubleheader against PSU-New Kensington has been postponed. A makeup date has been set for Tuesday, April 23rd, at 2 p.m.

PSUGA is coming off of a series in which they got swept by PSU-Beaver scoring a combined four runs in the series. Alyssa Guzzie (Pittsburgh, PA./Fox Chapel HS) led the offense hitting .286 over the series with a team high two extra base hits. She has been a fixture atop the PSUGA lineup in her two seasons with the team.

Holly George (Homer City, PA./Homer-Center HS) hit her first collegiate home run in the series helping bring in two of her teams four runs. She hit the shot in the opening game of the series depositing it over the right field wall that made it a five run game.

PSU-New Kensington is also coming off a rough stretch taking a sweep at the hands of Fayette last time out. The dropped their series finale 7-2 scoring two runs late but they couldn't overcome the 7-0 deficit. Alyssa Slancauskas led the way going 1-1 and scored one of her teams two runs.

PSUGA and PSU-New Kensington will push their series back and start with a doubleheader at New Kensington on Monday April 22nd and then play the makeup on Tuesday April 23rd.
