Monaca, Pa- Sophomore guard Taylor McCallister (North Huntingdon, PA) scored 22 points and had six rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome a slow first half as the women's basketball team suffered an 87-50 loss to Penn State Beaver (8-2, 5-0 PSUAC).
GA trailed 48-16 at the break, but turned in a much stronger performance in the second half- 21 of McCallister's 22 came in the second frame. Sophomore guard Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA) was the lone additional scorer in double-figures, with 10, while sophomore forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, PA) accumulated 11 rebounds.
The PSUAC defeat drops Greater Allegheny's record to 6-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play. GA will take the remainder of the calendar year off, returning to action January 8 for a 5 PM game at Pitt-Titusville.
