Fulton and Layne Combine for 47 in 72-48 Rout of Penn State Du Bois

McKeesport, Pa- Sophomore guards Taylor Fulton (West Mifflin, PA/West Mifflin) and Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice) shot a combined 19-37 (51%) from the floor and totaled 47 points, as the Greater Allegheny (13-11, 8-6 PSUAC) women's basketball team cruised to a 72-48 win over Penn State Du Bois.

  Fulton paced the dynamic duo with 24 points, to go along with eight assists,  five rebounds, and four steals.  Layne followed suit across the board, totaling 23 points, nine steals, and seven rebounds.  Sophomore guard Ciera Hussey (Philadelphia, PA/Overbrook) hit double-figures in points as well, with 10, while sophomore forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, PA/Sts. Neumann-Gorett) continued her dominance on the glass, accumulating 16 rebounds;  it was the 10th time this season in which she recorded at least 14  boards.

  Greater Allegheny will face one final tune-up before its PSUAC playoff berth, when they host NAIA foe, Point Park.  The February 10 match-up is set to begin at 4 PM.
