Jess Manfredi Earns USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year Award

Newport News, Va. - Through her hard-work and determination in the classroom alongside athletics, junior Jess Manfredi (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Serra Catholic) has earned herself the 2016 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Basketball National All-Academic Team accolade.

During the 2015-16 USCAA Basketball National Championship Banquet at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort earlier this month, the USCAA announced the 2016 USCAA Basketball National All-Academic team. National All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA.

The two-sport athlete, women's soccer and women's basketball, maintained her junior status at Penn State Greater Allegheny while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.  Apart of the Honor Roll and Dean's List all four semesters at her previous institution, Chatham University, she continued her good standing at Greater Allegheny as being apart of both the Honor Roll and Honor's Program.

In her spare time, the junior coaches for Metro USA, an AAU basketball team in the Pittsburgh area, for the past four years.

This summer, Manfredi looks forward to an internship with the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland with their sports marketing department. This coming after much deliberation between Georgetown University and their sports marketing department.
