McKeesport, Pa. - In the final home Penn State University Athletic Conference contest of the 2016-17 season, the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's basketball team fell to Penn State DuBois, Tuesday night , by a score of 79-60.

Freshman forward Justice Mitchell (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) pocketed a pair of layups split by a set of junior guard Mandi Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) free-throws, 6-3 GA. Sophomore forward Andrea Burroughs (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) slashed a free-throw a point as freshman guard Ronnie Upsher (Pittsburgh, Pa./McKeesport) added four points. Freshman guard Jayla Ellis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) added a jumper before Johnston closed the first quarter, GA up 15-14.

The Lions were held to just six points in the second set of ten of minutes. Mitchell and Ellis combined for the six, DuBois now far from Greater Allegheny 36-21.

Upsher was fast out-of-the-gate with a fast-break layup as Mitchell laid on four points in the paint. Johnston added a layup and one, 45-30 DuBois. Upsher put down two from the foul line before Johnston continued with five herself, GA still trailing 57-37 with two minutes remaining in the third. Upsher marked a pair of jumpers before Johnston laid the final points of the quarter from the paint, DuBois ahead 61-43.

Johnston contributed the first six points as Upsher dropped a jumper, 67-51. Johnston and Ellis added free-throw points as Upsher added four more, 79-60 final score.

Johnston managed 21 points with six assists, four rebounds and three steals. Upsher put up 18 points with 100% (4-of-4) from the foul line, along with six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Ellis and Mitchell both put up ten points a piece as Ellis added five steals, two boards and an assist while Mitchell pulled down three rebounds. Burroughs grabbed 13 rebounds with two steals and two blocks.

As a team, Greater Allegheny put down 68.1% (18-of-29) from the foul line along with 21 buckets from the floor. The Lions were out-rebounded 65-39 as the ladies managed 28 points in the paint, 14 points off turnovers and eight points on fast break.

Greater Allegheny (6-15, 3-10 PSUAC) looks onward to their final Penn State University Athletic Conference contest of the season as both the men and women travel to Penn State Beaver, Saturday afternoon, for a PSUAC double-header. The women are set to tip-off at 5 p.m.
