GA Alum and Former Player, Dizon Named New Head Coach for Women's Basketball

Nick Dizon comes to Penn State Greater Allegheny with 7 years of coaching experience ranging from youth to the high school level. 

Dizon began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant boys coach at Gateway High School under Daryn Freedman in 2015. From 2016-2018, Dizon became the Head Boys Freshman Coach in addition to a varsity assistant. The Gateway Boys qualified for the playoffs every year while Dizon was on the staff, including a Section Title in 2017.

In April 2018, Dizon was named the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Kiski Area High School. At the time, Dizon was the youngest head coach in the PA Big 56. Over his tenure at Kiski, Dizon began to build a foundation for the Kiski Area Girls Basketball program with the help of many dedicated assistant coaches and volunteers. In the 2021-2022 season, Kiski Area won its most games since 2013. Over Dizon's 4 years at Kiski Area, the program has implemented an elementary in-house league for grades K-6 with over 120 girls participating. In addition, Kiski has also had 8 All Conference performers during his tenure. In addition to athletic achievements, Kiski Area proudly had 87% of its JV/Varsity team earn high academic honors.

In addition to coaching High School Basketball, Dizon has been a Coach/Assistant Director for the AAU program Basketball Stars of America for 7 years. During this time, Dizon has worked with boys and girls aged 5-18  of varying ability as a coach, camp instructor and skills trainer. 

Dizon also conducts his own private training through his business No Doubt Basketball. Over the past 7 years, Dizon has trained over 150 local players with many who have gone on to become All-Conference performers, District/ State Champions and collegiate players.

Dizon is also a 2015 Alumni of Penn State Greater Allegheny. He received his Bachelor's in Business. In addition, Dizon also played for the Men's team from 2012-2015. Dizon currently holds the record for most FG's in a game (16), and also currently ranks in the top 5 all time in rebounds, blocks and FG%.

Dizon is excited and eager to bring some excitement and energy to the Women's Program here at Penn State Greater Allegheny. "As an alumni of GA, I have a strong sense of pride and admiration for this campus. I am blessed to be able to lead a great group of women on a campus that holds a big place in my heart. I fully embrace and look forward to beginning this journey together."
