Dague Posts a Pair of Goals in the 2-1 Tilt over Schuylkill

White Oak, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's soccer team welcomed Penn State University Athletic Conference foe, Penn State Schuylkill, to Francis McClure, Sunday afternoon, where GA came out on top, 2-1.

Through the last Greater Allegheny and Schuylkill showdown, Schuylkill came out in a 6-2 Greater Allegheny upend.

Greater Allegheny worked hard to start the game before sophomore defender Kelly Moore (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) crossed the ball to the feet of junior forward Kristina Dague (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills), who hashed the first goal of the game off of a one-timer, 1-0 GA.

The score remained in the GA advantage for 20 minutes before Schuylkill's Andrea Slotterback got through on a breakaway and slipped a goal into the back of the net, tying the game at one.

Not even five minutes later, sophomore midfielder Albree Weisen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carrick) hammered a shot into the crossbar, where Dague was there to clean up, 2-1 Greater Allegheny.

The second half was a hard fought battle on each side of the field, both hungry for the Penn State University Athletic Conference victory. The tally remained the same after 45 minutes of the second half, the game ending in the home teams favor, 2-1.

The Greater Allegheny offense peppered Schuylkill throughout the contest, 25-8. The Lion defense rallied together and allowed just four shots each half to lighten the load of sophomore goalkeeper Rachael Maiden (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson). Through the game, Rachael faced four shots on goal, stopping three. With the win, Maiden advances her win record to four.

Dague ripped nine shots, seven being on target while junior midfielder Melissa Loftus (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) posted seven, five being on goal. Of the 25 Greater Allegheny shots, 18 of them were on target.
