McKeesport, Pa. - Through a Penn State University Athletic Conference weekend, the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's soccer team shutout Penn State Mont Alto, 2-0, Saturday afternoon, before they drew a 2-2 double overtime tie over #1 Penn State Brandywine, Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, the first half was held to a zero-zero draw as both teams were unable to get on the board. In the 64th minute, junior forward Kristina Dague (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) connected off of a corner-kick off the foot of sophomore midfielder Albree Weisen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carrick), 1-0 Greater Allegheny.

Just six minutes later, freshman defender Emily Rojas (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) took the ball from the back field, dribbling it through the midfield and tearing through the defense, 2-0 Greater Allegheny.

Time expired as sophomore goalkeeper Rachael Maiden (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) recorded her second shutout on the season. Through the 90 minutes, Maiden faced five shots on goal, stopping each one. The Greater Allegheny offense ripped 38 shots through the contest, 28 being on target.

Weisen posted 11 shots, eight being on goal while sophomore midfielder Danielle Hozinec (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and sophomore midfielder Kaylin Bob (Riverdale, Ga./Forest Park) posted six a piece.

The next day, Greater Allegheny traveled with the men to Penn State York, where they faced the number one team in the Penn State University Athletic Conference, Penn State Brandywine. In the 21st minute of the contest, Weisen served another cornerkick which was cleaned up by junior midfielder Lauren Antosik (McKeesport, Pa./Oakland Catholic), 1-0 Greater Allegheny. The first half rode out in GA's favor.

In the 49th minute, Brandywine's Mary Mitchell evened the mark at one. Just 14 minutes later, Brandywine's Olivia Encarnacion elevated her team above Greater Allegheny 2-1 after a breakaway. With less than a minute to play, Rojas charged from the backfield to break down the Brandywine defense, 2-2 tie just before regulation expired.

Two- ten minute overtime periods were just not enough for either team to get on the board, ending the PSUAC showdown in a 2-2 halt.

Junior midfielder Melissa Loftus (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) connected for six shots, four on target while Weisen posted eight, four being on target. Maiden faced nine shots on goal, stopping seven.

Greater Allegheny finishes the regular season with an overall record of 5-5-1, 3-4-1 PSUAC, fourth overall in the PSUAC.
