Byers Halts 15 in 4-1 Women's Soccer Drop over Schuylkill

Schuylkill Haven, Pa. - Freshman goalkeeper Alexa Byers (Spring Creek, Pa./Corry Area) put forth her best effort with 15 saves in the 4-1 Penn State Greater Allegheny women's soccer loss to Penn State Schuylkill, Sunday afternoon.

Two minutes into the game, Schuylkill managed a goal, 1-0.

Sophomore forward Gaby Selmi (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Owen-Withee) and senior midfielder Lauren Antosik (McKeesport, Pa./Oakland Catholic) moved the ball up the field and found senior midfielder Melissa Loftus (Oxford, Pa./Oxford), who knocked it past the keep, tie game at one.

Three more goals for Schuylkill resulted in the 4-1 drop.

Byers faced 19 shots, stopping 15.

Loftus posted two shots.

As a team, Greater Allegheny was outshot 26-4.
