Women's Volleyball Loses Conference Opener

McKeesport, Pa- The Penn State Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball team lost its PSUAC opener 3-0 (8-25, 12-25, 20-25) to the visitors from Penn State Fayette.

Greater Allegheny struggled against a strong Fayette attack, dropping the first 2 sets handily.  However, the Lady Lions would put in a strong 3rd-set effort, in which they led for most of the way. Fayette would fight back however, and after tying the set, held on for a 25-20 win.

The Greater Allegheny Women were led by solid efforts from Freshmen Corinne Wilson (Bethel Park) and Samantha Clark (Steel Valley). Wilson led the way with 5 Kills and 11 Total Attacks, while also adding 2 Digs. Clark notched 3 Kills, with 7 Total Attacks, and 5 Digs.

After the loss, the Greater Allegheny record drops to 1-6 overall, and 0-1 in PSUAC play. The women will be back in action this Saturday, September 17, as they travel to Penn State Beaver. The match will begin at 12:00 PM.
