Women's Volleyball Drops Two

Hazleton, Pa- The Penn State Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball team traveled to Penn State Hazleton, where they dropped two PSUAC matches. In the first match, they fell to Penn State Hazleton 3-0 (12-25, 9-25, 17-25), and in the second match, they were defeated by Penn College 3-0 (15-25, 13-25, 18-25).

The GA women struggled in the first match against the host, Penn State Hazleton, as they were unable to get much on the offensive side going. Hazleton would cruise to a 3-0 win.  Battling back in the second match against Penn College, the Greater Allegheny turned in a strong performance. Each and every set was close, with multiple ties and lead-changes. However, Penn College would cling to their leads, and eventually hold on for the 3-0 match win.

Leading Greater Allegheny on the day was Freshman Alyssa Finocchi (Baldwin), who had 11 Kills on the day, to go along with 5 Total Blocks. Fellow Freshman Corinne Wilson (Bethel Park) turned in a great all-around performance.  Wilson tallied 5 Kills, 13 Digs, and 2 Total Blocks.

With the two losses, Greater Allegheny;s record falls to 4-16 overall, and 3-9 in PSUAC play. GA will continue its eastern PA swing, as it travels to Penn State Scranton to take on Scranton and Penn State Wilkesbarre.
