Greater Allegheny Volleyball Takes Three over Penn Highlands

McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team took three 25-20 sets over Penn Highlands in Wunderley Gymnasium, Tuesday night.

All three matches were point-for-point, as Penn Highlands came up short each set. Elevating the Greater Allegheny efforts was senior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), as she added a kill percentage of .483, nailing 14 of her 29 attempts. Through three sets, Finocchi hammered six service aces, three assists, 12 digs, and four total blocks.

Sophomore setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) assisted her team as she dished out 15 assists, nine digs, one service ace, and three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) got down for 19 digs alongside posting two service aces and three assists.

Freshman defensive specialist Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) attained 24 digs as freshman right side Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center) grabbed 17 digs, four kills, two assists, two service aces and two block assists.

Greater Allegheny (2-3, 1-0) takes their second win on the season and looks forward to the next meeting between the two teams, as GA is scheduled to see Penn Highlands again on Friday, September 5th. The two teams square off again at 4 p.m.
