McKeesport, Pa. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Volleyball team (1-5, 0-2) is looking to turn things around after dropping their last two contests when they face off against Penn State New Kensington (1-4, 0-2) on Wednesday Septmeber 27^th inside the Wunderly Gymnasium on the campus of PSUGA.

The ladies fell their last time out when they faced off against Penn State DuBois at home losing the match three sets to one. The loss was the first by PSUGA to PSU-DuBois since September 11^th 2016 and was only the second loss to PSU-Dubois since the 2011/12 season. The ladies battled with PSU-DuBois throughout keeping it close in all four sets losing by scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-18. They were able to take the third set of the match handing PSU-DuBois their first set loss of the season 25-17.

With the loss to PSU-DuBois, PSUGA has now lost back-to-back games and are looking to turn it around. Their lone win of the season came against Westmoreland County Community College back on September 7^th when they won three sets to one. In total, they have won just four sets this season in their six matches.

However, they are facing a team that has also seen its fair share of struggles in Penn State New Kensington. PSU-New Kensington has lost each of its last four contests coming into play today including a three sets to nothing loss to Penn State University Athletic Conference powerhouse Penn State Beaver on Saturday.

Brittany Kotvas lead her team with 23 total attack attempts and brought down seven kills in the contest. She was followed by Janet Surma who had 18 total attack opportunities and notched three kills on the day.

PSU-New Kensington is a fairly young team with just one Junior on the team as the leader and a whole new recruiting class. PSUGA matches up very well against PSU-New Kensington on paper with both being younger teams who are trying to find their footing here in the middle part of the PSUAC season.

However, this has been an all-time series that has been dominated by PSUGA. Since the 2011/12 season, they have a record of 11-2 against PSU-New Kensington. The last time PSU-New Kensington took a set from PSUGA was back on September 29^th 2015. PSUGA has also won the last three contests against New Kensington.

The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. inside the Wunderly Gymansium. Come out and support the lady lions as they look for their second home win of the season.
