PSUGA Volleyball to Host First Ever Alumni Game

McKeesport, Pa. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Volleyball team will be welcoming back some of it’s all-time greats when they host their first ever Alumni Game on Friday at 8 p.m. The list includes many members of the historic 2014-2015 season when the team went 21-10 and made it to the Penn State University Athletic Conference Final Four.

Topping the list of returning athletes includes current PSUGA head volleyball coach Alyssa Finocchi. She will be joined by Emily Taylor, Christina Floyd, Adrielle Bribson, Sam Clark, Rosie Marzialli, Brianna Audette, Helena Vasser, and Erin Osiecky among others. All of these ladies have made significant impacts on the team and have led them in the right direction.

Finocchi played for PSUGA from 2011-2014 being named PSUAC All-Conference in each of those four seasons. She was also named a United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American in both 2013 and 2014. She graduated from PSUGA in 2015 with a degree in Business and now is the head coach of the PSUGA Volleyball Team.

Floyd also played from 2011-2014 and was part of the team that brought PSUGA back to glory. She won two PSUAC All-Conference awards for Volleyball while also starring as a member of the PSUGA Women’s Basketball Team. Taylor played from 2014-2016 starring on the defensive side of the ball where she collected 232 digs in three seasons.

Brisbon, Vasser, and Audette all played two seasons for PSUGA as part of the 2+2 program at Penn State Greater Allegheny. Brisbon collected 823 assists in her two seasons including 537 in the 2014 leading her team to the PSUAC playoffs. Vasser played in the early years of the program from 2011-2012 and collected 136 digs in two seasons. Audette starred on both the Volleyball team and Women’s Basketball team collecting 404 digs.

These stars will be taking on the current PSUGA Volleyball team that finished 8-13 overall and 6-10 in conference play. After a 2-8 start to the year, they were able to battle back to even their record at 8-8 and put themselves back in the playoff picture. However, they dropped their last five games to finish out their season.

The Alumni Game will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. inside the Wunderly Gymnasium and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Don’t miss out on the fun as we honor some of the great volleyball players in PSUGA history.
