Seiblesierra Ili Named PSUAC Volleyball Setter of the Week

McKeesport, PA. – The Penn State University Athletic Conference released their weekly awards on Tuesday and Penn State Greater Allegheny volleyball player Seiblesierra Ili (Barstow, CA./Barstow HS) has been named this week’s PSUAC Volleyball Setter of the Week. Ili wrapped up the 2018-2019 season with a career best performance against PSU-New Kensington helping the team pick up a 3-0 win.

Ili collected a career high 24 assists in the game helping to set up PSUGA’s power hitters throughout the night. Ili herself got in on the action as well picking up two kills on seven total attacks while contributing four digs on the defensive side of the ball. Ili has been a work horse for PSUGA all season long playing every set of every game.

She finished the 2018-2019 season with 334 assists in 19 games and finished seventh in the PSUAC while also finishing fourth in the conference with 5.66 assists/set. In just her freshman season, Ili has already made her mark in the PSUGA volleyball record books where she sits third all-time for career assists. With three more seasons to go, she could very well break the career assist record of 823 held by PSUGA alumnus Adrielle Brisbon.

However, Ili will be taking a year off in 2019-2020 as she goes to do missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Saints. She will return for the 2020-2021 season as she looks to continue to improve and help PSUGA fight towards a PSUAC playoff spot and set them up for success now and in the future.

Ili is the third PSUGA athlete to be recognized by the PSUAC so far this season. Teammate Alix Ellis and soccer player Colin Bucsok are the other two athletes who have been recognized as Volleyball Player of the week and Goalkeeper of the Week earlier this season. PSUGA athletes continue to shine on the court as they work hard day in and day out.

While the PSUGA volleyball season has come to an end, there is still much to look forward to as we move ahead towards the 2019-2020 season.
