Cross Country Finishes Second at Penn State DuBois

DuBois, Pa- The Penn State Greater Allehgney cross country team continued their strong season by finishing 2nd out of 10 teams in a meet at Penn State DuBois.  GA narrowly missed placing in first for the second straight week, falling behind Penn College by just six.

  Freshman Rob Meier (Penn-Trafford, PA) led the GA runners in the 8k race with a 6th place finish, and a time of 31:30.  Freshman Nathan Ferraro (West Mifflin, PA) came in just behind Meier at 7th, with a time of 31:32.  Sophomore Brandon Jacobs (South Allegheny, PA) (11th), freshman Ryan Bartok (Mt. Pleasant, PA) (12th), sophomore Jared Reesman (Indian Valley, PA) (22nd) and junior Chris Hurley (McKeesport, PA) (32nd) rounded out the Greater Allegheny male participants. 

  Sophomore Maria Marroquin (Benjamin Banneker, D.C.) was the lone runner for GA in the women's race, finishing the 5k in 9th, with a time of 26:30.

  The next race for Greater Allegheny will be Saturday, October 20, as they participate in the PSUAC Championships at Penn State Brandywine.  Race time is set for 1 PM.
