Admissions Counselor / Athletic Recruiter

Art McCray serves as an Admissions Counselor and Athletic Recruiter at Penn State Greater Allegheny, where he plays an integral role in student recruitment and enrollment while working closely with the athletic department to support the recruitment and development of prospective student-athletes.

In his role, Coach McCray assists prospective students and their families throughout the admissions process, providing guidance on academic programs, campus life, and the transition to college. As an Athletic Recruiter, he collaborates with coaches and athletic staff to identify and recruit student-athletes who align with Penn State Greater Allegheny’s academic standards and competitive athletic culture.

A Penn State alum, Coach McCray brings extensive experience in collegiate athletics from his time as the head men’s basketball coach at Penn State New Kensington. Through that role, he developed a strong working knowledge of both the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), giving him valuable insight into the recruiting landscape at the collegiate level.

Widely respected within the recruiting community, Coach McCray has been sought after as a guest speaker at recruiting events nationwide, where he shares his expertise on the college recruiting process, student-athlete development, and pathways to success at the next level.

A Penn State New Kensington Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Coach McCray continues to make a positive impact through his commitment to education, athletics, and student success.
