Shenango Suffers First Conference Loss to Greater Allegheny

In a thrilling five-set battle, Penn State Shenango suffered its first conference loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny, 3-2, with set scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-12, 14-25, and 12-15. Despite the narrow defeat, Shenango showcased strong individual performances, highlighting their depth and resilience.

Cyra Cross was Shenango's offensive leader with 15 kills on 62 attempts, adding a total of 16.0 points. Sydney Ward was highly efficient, posting an impressive .458 hitting percentage with 11 kills and zero errors, and leading the defensive effort with a team-high 25 digs. Ward also contributed two aces and a solo block, finishing with 14.0 points.

Setter Jade Shattuck facilitated the offense with 27 assists, while also making her mark at the service line, tallying seven aces. Her efforts earned her 10.0 points overall, showing her versatility and impact on both sides of the ball. Kylee Loreno contributed 11 kills and 20 digs, adding 12 points to Shenango's total. Jori Malone chipped in with six kills, rounding out the balanced attack.
