Osei's 29 not enough in close loss to GA 86-83

Mont Alto, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto fell just a little short against Penn State Greater Allegheny by a score of 86-83.

 

Nathan Osei recorded a season-high 29 points shooting 11-18 from the field and 7-11 from three in the loss against Greater Allegheny. Cameron Williams was one rebound short of a double-double recording 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Caleb Eckert recorded 18 points shooting 7-13 from the field.

 

The first half ended with Mont Alto leading 43-37 at the break. Greater Allegheny came out strong in the second half outscoring Mont Alto 49-40 to finish with a three-point win. A back-and-forth game with six lead changes and seven ties kept fans involved until the final whistle. With less than a minute left down by just three, Mont Alto had a chance to tie the game. Nathan Osei found himself open with a potential game tying three point shot that ended up being just right of the rim to give Greater Allegheny the three-point margin win.

 

Greater Allegheny had four starters in double figures as Devin Green led the team in scoring with 20. Bryce Phillips recorded a double-double scoring 13 points shooting 4-6 from the field and grabbing 13 rebounds on the defensive end. Damon Gamble was a key man off the bench as he recorded 12 points off the bench shooting 5-9 from the field. Greater Allegheny bench was the difference in the game as they outscored Mont Alto's bench 21 to 16.
