Tough Battle for Beaver in PSUAC Match-up
Beaver Battled with Penn State Greater Allegheny ending 2 of 3 sets with extra points.
Pittsburgh, PA - Today the Lady Lions traveled to take on Penn State Greater Allegheny in another tough PSUAC match-up. Though the final score of the match was not in favor of Beaver, the team had 2 very exciting sets that ended with extra points being scored. The final scores were as follows, Set 1: 25-15, Set 2: 26-24, and Set 3: 27-25, all 3 sets ended in favor of Penn State Greater Allegheny. The team had a much better outing than the previous game and they look to continue improving through the final half of the season.
Leading the team was 2nd year, Sofia Perez (Bogota,Colombia) who had an impressive 15 kills, 4 digs, and 1 solo block. Also helping the team immensely was 3rd year, Courtney Simpkins (Palm Bay, FL) who had 27 assists in 3 sets, with 2 service aces, 1 kill, and 6 digs. 2nd year, Carly Harbrige (Chocowhitney, NC), had 7 digs for Beaver, 1 kill, 1 serivce ace, and 1 block assist. The team had 33 kills on the night hitting for a .180 kill percentage, and 29 assists, 3 service aces, 32 digs, 3 solo blocks, and 2 block assists.
The team currently sits with a 1-10 overall record and a 0-4 conference record. They will hit the court again on Thursday, Septemnber 25th at 7pm when they take on Butler County Community College in the Beaver Fieldhouse.
