Beaver take close loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny 66-65
Monaca, PA - Beaver took on Penn State Greater Allegheny in a conference matchup today. The first half began with a quick scoring exchange between both teams before Greater Allegheny finally took a lead of 6 points leading 13-7 with 13 minutes left. Beaver immediately turned the game around, tying the game up in less than 2 minutes. Both teams began another battle until Beaver took over to finish out the half with a 4 point lead, 30-26. For the majority of the second half, Beaver held the lead. Greater Allegheny would grab a quick 2 point lead but Beaver would turn it back into a 2 point Beaver lead. The final 3 minutes came down to the wire as both teams were tied up. With 10 seconds left on the clock, Beaver committed a foul, sending a Greater Allegheny player to the line to convert 1/2 free throws for a 66-65 lead. The Lions were able to put up one last shot, but missed to fall short in a close game, 66-65.
Senior Izaiah Dickerson had 22 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks. Senior Jeremy Redwine had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Senior Devon Johnson had 11 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Freshman Chris Green had 11 points and 2 rebounds.
