Morales nears double-double in loss to GA 76-50

Mont Alto, Pa.- Penn State Mont Alto took on PSUAC opponent Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday afternoon. Mont Alto fell by a final score of 76-50.

 

Shanez Morales led Mont Alto in scoring with 14 points in 33 minutes and recorded nine rebounds for the Nittany Lions. Autumn Fisher was close behind recording 13 points and grabbing six rebounds, four on the defensive end.

 

Greater Allegheny used a nearly 50% shooting night to apply the pressure on Mont Alto. Forced turnovers and fast breaks allowed Greater Allegheny to lead 36-22 at the halfway mark. Mont Alto turned over the ball 33 times and Greater Allegheny capitalized scoring 35 points off turnovers. Three players were in double figures with Tomisha Pierce leading the scoring with 21 shooting 8-20 from the field and going 5-14 from the three-point line. Abby Henderson recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, just three assists off from a triple double recording seven assists. Greater Allegheny increased their largest lead of the game with a 26-point margin.

 

Next up for Mont Alto they take on out of conference opponent Central Penn College on January 6th in the Second Annual Parrish Petry tournament at Penn State York. Opening tip is set for 5 p.m.
