Mandi Johnston and Jordan Payne Receive PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week Accolades

State College, Pa. - Through the beginning of the 2015-16 women's and men's basketball seasons, both sophomore guard Mandi Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and freshman guard Jordan Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) earn the first Penn State University Athletic Conference women's and men's basketball Student-Athlete of the Week awards.

Mandi has earned the first PSUAC Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week award as she assisted her team through the first four games of the regular season. The second-year athlete worked hard to add a total of 86 points, an average of 21.5 per game, while adding 18 rebounds, 16 assists and nine steals through the 1-3 start.  The sophomore shot 36.3% (29-of-80) from the field, including 80% (24-of-30) from the free-throw line.

Payne earned his first PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week award, after his efforts for the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team. The freshman posted 51 total points, averaging 17 per game, while dishing out 15 boards, ten steals and five assists through the first three contests for the blue-and-white. Jordan deposited 35.8% (19-of-53) of his shots from the floor, while adding 66.7% (4-of-6) of his free-throws.
