Penn State Greater Allegheny staged a last inning comeback on Saturday afternoon , with a 4-3 setback to NCAA III Manhattanville.
The 2010 Freedom Conference and NCAA tournamment participant Vilants jumped out to a 1-0 1st inning lead and never looked back. Freshman Scott Dierdorf (Hopewell) piched 6 innings, while giving up 3 earned runs. Offensively, three lions collected 2 hits: Freshman Zak Schmidt (Moon), Freshman Adam Wehr (Northwestern), and Sophomore Mike Visloski (West Allegheny).
Greater Allegheny finshed their southern swing 7-3 overall. The lions will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Buena Vista, VA for four games series versus nationally ranked Southern Virginia University.
