The Penn State Greater Allegheny baseball program concluded its four game series in Buena Vista, VA splitting Saturday's double header 0-12 and 4-3.
In game one, Greater Allegheny couldn't match the Knight's offensive output dropping a 0-12 decision in five innings.
In game two, the Lions rode an impressive performance from Freshman Scott Dierdorf (Hopewell) in route to a 4-3 victory. Dierdorf picked up the complete game victory, while scattering 6 hits and striking out four. Offensively, Junior Ted Fricke (Carrick) collected 2 hits, while blasting a sixth inning home run. Freshman Adam Wehr (Northwester) and Sophomore Mike Visloski (West Allegheny) each chalked up 2 hits in the victory.
Greater Allegheny improved to 8-6 overall, and will be back in action on Wednesday March 23 when they travel to Greentree Field to take on Point Park University first pitch is 1:00 p.m.
