Jim Chester Receives Chuck Tanner Award

Pittsburgh, Pa-  The Rotary Club of Pittsburgh has named Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball Coach, Jim Chester, its second Collegiate Baseball Manager of the Year. Chester will be honored during the fifth annual Chuck Tanner Major League Baseball Manager of the Year event at 6 p.m. on Nov. 19, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

This past season, Coach Chester led the Greater Allegheny baseball team to a 30-13-1 overall record.  GA would win its second straight PSUAC League Championship, as well as winning its first ever PSUAC Tournament Championship.  The squad would also go on to finish third in the USCAA Small-College World Series, an all-time best finish.
