Greater Allegheny Baseball Featured on Inside Pirates Baseball Segment
McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny head baseball coach, Jim Chester, will be featured on an all-new episode of Inside Pirates Baseball, which is aired on ROOT Sports.
Chester, just after completing the best season of his career, will be on the show getting a few pointers from someone who knows a thing or two about leading a ball club -- and much more. Alongside Chester and the GA Lions will be stories about how the Pirates starting rotation is one of the best in baseball and how Garrett Jones becomes the first Pirate to hit one into the Allegheny River.
Chester and his coaching staff led the team to not only a PSUAC Championship and a finish of 35-17, 19-3 PSUAC, but also a second place finish in the 2013 USCAA Small College World Series. The 52 games played sets a new all-time record for the institution, while the 35 wins tied the mark. Chester went on to register his 200th career victory this season, while the second place finish in the USCAA World Series stands as the pinnacle in program history.
