Baseball Assistant Coach Joe Ranalli to be Inducted in High School Hall of Fame
McKeesport, Pa. - Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball Assistant Coach Joe Ranalli has been selected for induction into the Gonzaga College High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions to the 1982 Gonzaga Football Team.
Coach Joe has been apart of the PSUGA Baseball program for seven seasons. Ranalli oversees the Lion's Strength and Conditioning program and handles the development of the program's outfielders. A Clairton High School graduate, coach Joe has served many different capacities during his coaching tenure. In 1970, Ranalli began coaching in Southern Maryland at Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C.. Coach spent time as an assistant football coach, assistant & head baseball coach and athletic director during his stint there. After relocating back to the Mon-Valley, he spent time on the South Park High School's football staff as assistant football coach as well as the head coach of the baseball program. Ranalli is on the coaching staff of the Pittsburgh Pandas of the Tri-State Collegiate League. A retired Sergeant of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., Ranalli's passion for baseball adds a great asset to the PSUGA baseball coaching staff.
The induction ceremony will take place on October 5, 2013 at noon at Gonzaga. Coach Joe will be apart of a ceremony integrated with the Gonzaga Eagles' football game versus Carroll. He will be recognized before the game, as well as at halftime during the game.
